PUNE: The state government will soon introduce an ordinance that aims at putting an effective check on the unfair exploitation of students by self-proclaimed professional institutions, which operate without the approval of the regulatory councils concerned. "The ordinance is being forwarded to the state governor for approval and will adequately empower the government to act decisively against such bogus institutions," higher and technical education minister Rajesh Tope told reporters. "The ordinance will have provisions for action like imprisonment of people running bogus institutions and heavy monetary fines," he said.
