Foreign Educational Institutions (Regulation of Entry and Operations) BillBy: Eduvisors Research Team

A Bill to regulate entry and operation of foreign educational institutions imparting or intending to impart higher education (including technical education and medical education and award of degree, diploma and equivalent qualifications by such institutions) and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. The Bill was approved by the union Cabinet in March in 2010 and was introduced in the Lok Sabha on May 3, 2010.? It has been referred to the Standing Committee on Human Resource Development, which was scheduled to submit its report within two months but is delayed in its response. This month?s Monograph is a summary of the Bill and an attempt to analyze it from the perspective of various stakeholders.
